Galactic Develops New Natural Solutions for Cosmetics
26 Mar 2014 --- Galactic is glad to announce that three of its lactic acid and sodium lactate solutions for cosmetic applications are now conformed to the COSMOS standards. This follows the company’s announcement in September regarding a number of Galactic’s natural solutions for cosmetics, detergents and paints that received the approval from ECOCERT in accordance with their standards on natural and organic raw materials.
As today’s cosmetics market is constantly evolving as a result of consumer demand for more natural beauty products, Galactic is now enlarging its product portfolio with new sustainable solutions for cosmetic applications.
The Belgian company is launching brand new grades of lactic acid (Galacid Cosmetic 90) and sodium lactate (Galaflow SL Cosmetic 60) reaching an unprecedented level of purity. Those products, which are specially suited for cosmetics applications, have been approved by ECOCERT as being 100% of natural origin. Ecocert is a European inspection and certification body for sustainable development which also delivered a COSMOS certification for those products. COSMOS is a Europe-wide private standard developed in collaboration with four other charter members (BDIH, Cosmebio, ICEA and Soil Association).
“Complying with internationally renowned standards such as ECOCERT and COSMOS will help us respond to the cosmetics industry’s needs in the most effective way”, says Alexander Wagner, Sales Manager EMEA – non-food markets at Galactic. “Moreover, as we know that our clients are continuously looking for more natural products, our will is to stay at the forefront of our industry and keep on adding new high quality bio-based solutions to our product portfolio.”
Galactic will also take the opportunity of its presence at in-cosmetics on April 1-3 in Hamburg, Germany (booth 3D82) to introduce its latest innovations. In this framework, Galactic is proud to present a brand new concept, Galatea, which is a state-of-the-art anti-ageing solution aimed to protect the body against oxidative stress. In partnership with Taradon Laboratory, the company has developed innovative formulations for food supplements, face creams and body lotions specially designed to act from the inside of the body and on the outside at the same time.
