Clinical Study Backs Claims Made by Skincare Brand SkinAx²
06 Sep 2016 --- SkinAx², a new anti-aging formula from the French Group Activ’Inside, has been backed by a published clinical study on its capacity to improve skin radiance by oral route.
The oral supplement provides both primary and secondary antioxidants for an optimal and synergistic protection against skin oxidation, combining french grape and melon extracts rich in polyphenols, as well as superOxide Dismutase (SOD), zinc and vitamin C.
The makers claim the antioxidant capacity of SkinAx² protects skin fibers from degradation, improves skin microcirculation and allows regulating melanin synthesis. This multifactorial way of action contributes to the complete effect of SkinAx² on the three main components of skin radiance: color, contract and imperfection.
It's these claims have now been backed by a clinical study conducted under dermatological control on 35 women. Using both subjective and objective methods, SkinAx² was found to improve skin radiance, including color, contrast and imperfection after 2 months of oral supplementation. 82 per cent of women enrolled on the study reported an even complexion and brighter skin.
Marion Dumoulin, co-author of the clinical study explained, “Contrary to most of skin anti-aging solutions, SkinAx² not only acts on a single parameter but has a full and complementary action on all factors involved in skin radiance."
Dumoulin added, “Consumer’s skin is more luminous, smoother and firmer, with less imperfections. Overall, more than 20 clinical results detailing the SkinAx² efficacy have been obtained, each representing one validated differentiating message for the final consumers.”
The innovation provided by SkinAx² on the nutricosmetic market has already been rewarded twice and has been selected as a finalist of CPG Editor’s Choice Award, whose winner will be selected at the upcoming Supply Side West event. This recognition of the product highlights the innovation conveyed by SkinAx² on the growing nutricosmetic market.
When asked how he thinks the nutricosmetic sector will move forward, Benoit Lemaire, Business & Marketing Director of Activ’Inside, told NutritionInsight: "In our opinion, the nutricosmetic industry will move to the development of ready to use formulations based on the combination of synergistic ingredients. Customers have growing interest in having a full formula backed by clinical studies and claims in order to accelerate their market access and to boost their communication"
Available both as an ingredient or a ready-to-use formulation for private labeling, Lemaire added that SkinAx² can be used adapted to the customer needs, explaining, "We propose turnkey concepts formulated with SkinAx² allowing our customers to access to the market with an innovative product backed by one clinical study, a patented formula, and proprietary claims.”
